PRESENTE CONTINUO/PROGRESIVO

Se forma con el presente de “to be” seguido del verbo principal terminado en –ing.
Ejemplos:
I am speaking – yo estoy hablando                 She is driving – ella está conduciendo.

Usos:
1.       Acciones que están ocurriendo ahora mismo.
2.       Una acción temporal, no habitual.
3.       Una acción planificada para un futuro próximo.

Ejemplos:
1.       The mechanic is repairing the car now. El mecánico está reparando el coche ahora.
2.       He is travelling a lot this month. Él está viajando mucho este mes.
3.       I'm interviewing the actors tomorrow. Mañana entrevisto a los actores.

Expresiones temporales más usuales con este tiempo verbal: 
Now - Ahora
right now - justo ahora
at the moment - en este momento
tonight - esta noche
this year - este año
at present - en el presente
tomorrow - mañana
next week - la próxima semana

Reglas ortográficas para añadir –ing a los verbos:
  • Cuando un verbo es monosílabo o/y termina en consonante-vocal-consonante acentuada, duplicamos la última consonante y añadimos –ing.
run               =>            runn + ing           =>          running
stop              =>          stopp + ing         =>          stopping
begin            =>          beginn + ing       =>          beginning

  • Pero si no lleva la fuerza de voz, simplemente agregamos -ing.
open             =>          open + ing          =>          opening
visit               =>          visit + ing             =>          visiting
listen            =>          listen + ing          =>          listening
  • Cuando un verbo termina en la letra e, primero la eliminamos y después agregamos -ing.
make            =>          mak + ing            =>          making
dance           =>          danc + ing           =>          dancing
write            =>          writ + ing            =>          writing

  • Cuando un verbo termina en las letras ie, las cambiamos por una ”y” y agregamos -ing.
lie  =>          ly + ing =>          lying
die =>          dy + ing               =>          dying

· Affirmative    I am going  / He, she, it is going   / You, we, they are going 
· Negative    I am (I'm) not going / He, she, it is not (isn't) going / You, we, they are not (aren't) going 
· Interrogative    Am I going? / Is he, she, it going? / Are you, we, they going?   

COMO SE FORMA CON EL VERBO TO BE, LA INTERROGATIVA Y LA NEGATIVA SON COMO ESTE VERBO.
