Prepositions of Place - Las preposiciones de lugar
NEXT TO (BESIDE/BY) - Significado: al lado de, junto a
BETWEEN - Significado: entre (dos)
Ejemplos:
The shop is between the bank and the train station.(La tienda está entre el banco y la estación de tren.)
She is standing between Peter and John.(Ella está de pie entre Pedro y Juan.)
BEHIND - Significado: detrás de
Ejemplos:
The church is behind the school.(La iglesia está detrás de la escuela.)
He is standing behind you.(Está de pie detrás de ti.)
UNDER - Significado: debajo de. JUSTO DEBAJO, POSIBLE CONTACTO FÍSICO.
Ejemplos:
The ball is under his back.(La pelota está debajo de su espalda.)
The dog is under the tree.(El perro está debajo del árbol.)
BELOW - Debajo de, bajo. NO HAY CONTINUIDAD, NIVEL MÁS BAJO.
Ejemplos:
The temperature is 10 degrees below zero. (La temperatura es de 10 grados bajo cero).
The submarine is below sea level. (El submarino está bajo el nivel del mar).
IN - Significado: En, dentro de
Ejemplos:
The food is still in the oven. (La comida sigue en el horno).
The fruit is in the bag. (La fruta está dentro de la bolsa).
ON - Sobre, encima de. HAY CONTACTO FÍSICO.
Ejemplos:
The laptop is on the bed. (El portátil está sobre la cama).
There is a cat on the roof. (Hay un gato en el tejado).
AT - En. Se utiliza para referirse al punto en concreto en el cual se encuentra un elemento. No tiene que estar dentro.
Ejemplos:
Jim is at the door. (Jim está en la puerta).
They are at the party. (Ellos están en la fiesta).
ABOVE - Sobre, encima de. NO HAY CONTACTO FÍSICO.
Ejemplos:
The light is above the table. (La luz está sobre la mesa).
He lives in the room above the store. (Él vive en la habitación encima de la tienda).

IN FRONT OF - Significado: Delante de, en frente de (puede estar cara a cara, o no)
OPPOSITE - Significado: En frente de (siempre está cara a cara)
