La respuesta corta con el verbo "to be".
Si contestamos "sí" o "no" a las preguntas en inglés, solemos repetir el verbo "to be" en la contestación, es más correcto que contestar sólo si o no. En la forma negativa, puede haber contracción entre el verbo "to be" o con el sujeto o con la palabra "not", pero en la respuesta afirmativa no se contrae:
Are you tired? (¿estás cansado?).
Yes, I am (sí).
No, I am not / No, I'm not (no).
Is she English? (¿ella es inglesa?).
Yes, she is.
